Course description
This course is suitable for those needing to gain First Aid skills that may be used in Activity and Outdoor situations. It is designed for those involved in group activities and sports, instructors who need a First Aid qualification recognised by governing bodies and also Duke of Edinburgh Award participants
The course covers a wide variety of possible injuries and common medical conditions. It is delivered in a friendly, easy to understand manner to give people the skills and confidence to react to both minor incidents and Emergency situations.
The Activity First Aid course is run over two days and includes both theory and practical sessions.
This course can be adapted to suit a particular audience, for example, DofE leaders or Watersports staff and on it can be run on non-consecutive days.
Students are independently examined on the final day of the course. Upon successful completion certification is valid for three years
Under the current guidelines it is “strongly recommend” that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months, before completing full re-qualification training at the three year point.
